
Rosie Mae Satterfield, 78, of Grayson went to be with her Lord, Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Rosie was born February 28, 1947 in Lee County, Virginia; a daughter of the late, Edna Satterfield. In addition to her mother, Rosie was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley Eldridge and Buck Eldridge; two sisters, Edith Russell and Bertie Eldridge; a cousin, Ricky Satterfield. Rosie loved to watch soap operas and gameshows as well as sitting outside watching birds, squirrels and deer. Rosie enjoyed planting flowers and was known as the “Mayor of Clover Leaf”. Rosie is survived by her loving companion of 40 years, Jack Dempsey Hensley; a brother, Melvin Eldridge of Ewing, VA; three sisters-in-law, Lena (Clyde) Romans, Eva Holbrook and Patricia (John) Stewart all of Grayson; special cousins, Rex (Beverly) Satterfield of Ashland, Mike (Ann) Young of Olive Hill, Jackie (Sandy) Young, Jr. and Regina Satterfield of Grayson; and several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who all mourn her passing. Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Delmar Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
