Shirley Mae Felty Mullins, 93, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Born on February 13, 1933, in Boyd County, Kentucky, Shirley was the cherished daughter of the late Gilliam Orville “Dan” Felty and Mary Mabel Vanhorn Felty. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Edward Mullins, in 1987; her daughter, Deborah Mullins Waddell; her son, Warnie Mullins; two grandchildren, Christopher Shane Suttles and George Tyler Mullins; her sister, Carol Ratcliff; and her brothers, Clarence Felty, William “Bud” Felty, and Ronald Dee Felty.
Shirley dedicated many years of faithful work as a seamstress at Cowden’s in Olive Hill, where her skillful hands and diligent spirit were well known. A devoted Christian, Shirley’s faith was the foundation of her life. She loved her family deeply and treasured every opportunity to gather together—especially at family reunions, where laughter and storytelling were plentiful. Shirley was famous among her loved ones for her homemade chicken and dumplings and delicious custards, meals that brought comfort and joy to many. Known for her quick wit and candid spirit, she was never at a loss for words and left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lesa (Bobby) McGlone of Indiana; her son, Kevin (Vickie) Mullins of Grayson; two grandchildren, Bobbi Michele (Jonathan) McGlone Winings of Indiana and Nathan Mullins; two great-grandchildren, Kerrigan Winings and Raylan Tyler Mullins; four sisters, Phyllis Sark, Vonda Fraley, Bertha Lambert, and Chloetta Johnson; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who mourn her passing and will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, with Bro. Bradley Cotten officiating. Burial will follow at East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Monday.
