Thelma Louise Thoroughman Bloomfield, age 93, of Garrison, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 9, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 12, 1932, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Rosa Fetters Thoroughman.
Thelma was of the Baptist Faith and loved going to church. She enjoyed quilting, canning, raising a big garden and taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 22 years, William “Bill” Bloomfield; one great-granddaughter, Brittney Burriss; nine brothers and three sisters.
Thelma is survived by three sons, Wendell (Donna) Bloomfield of Tollesboro, Kentucky, Jerry Bloomfield of Garrison, Kentucky, Handford (Debra) Bloomfield of South Shore, Kentucky; two daughters, Kathy Howard of Quincy, Kentucky, Billie (Dennis) Ray of Bucyrus, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Delbert (Georgetta) Thoroughman of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Donald Thoroughman of Bucyrus, Ohio, Eddie (Laura Mae) Thoroughman of Salt Lick, Kentucky; one sister, Nannie Jane Hobbs of Kentucky Heights, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue, Garrison, Kentucky, with Brother Ronnie Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery in Garrison, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11;30 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, until the service hour at Globe Family Funeral Chapel.
Vallary Stone, Sondra Stamper, Diana Kiser, Jody Walters, Samantha Cooper, Marta Witten, Kenny Howard and Jason Howard will serve as pallbearers.
Steven Musick, Adam Witten, Andy Thoroughman, Brandy Banks, Amy Cooper and Sarah Howard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
