Thomas Lee Stewart, 81, of Hitchins, passed peacefully at UK Kings Daughters Medical Center on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 4:30 pm, and entered the arms of his Savior, as Jesus called him to his eternal home. Thomas was born on January 22, 1944, and was the son of the late Charlie & Anna Mae Herron Stewart. He was preceded in death by his father and mother in laws, Raymond and Hazel Mullins Hall; four brothers, Charles Stewart Jr, Gary Stewart, Paul R Stewart, & Glen Allen Stewart; and one sister, Deborah Stewart Satterfield.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Hall Stewart of Hitchins, KY; daughter, Misty Lee Stewart of Hitchins, KY; two brothers, Rob Stewart of Grayson, KY and Tim Stewart of Grayson, KY; nephew Robbie (Melissa) Stewart of Hitchins; great niece Laikin Grace (Zach) Collins of Hitchins, KY; very special great nephew Toby Johnston Stewart of Hitchins, KY; and many other family members and friends who will mourn his passing.
Thomas was a devout Christian and throughout the years attended many churches with his family. He did a wonderful job leading services, leading prayers, and being a witness to others. He enjoyed going to church to hear good singing and preaching while he was able to go. He was in and out of the hospital numerous times, and he always prayed for God’s will to be done. He was a loving father and shared a very special bond with his daughter. Where you saw one of them out and about, you usually saw the other. He has been married to his wife just a few months shy of fifty years, and they had such a strong commitment to each other. Thomas was an avid foxhunter and greatly enjoyed raising and showing his Walker Foxhounds. He won many plaques, trophies, and ribbons from various field trials and bench shows. He developed countless lifelong friendships through hunting and his dogs. Several of his hunting buddies have already passed on, but he shared lots of precious memories he had made with them quite often. Thomas loved basketball. He attended numerous local high school games for years, he and his family went to the State Tournament annually for quite a few years, and he loved to watch the UK Wildcats from his couch. He adored cooking with his wife and daughter in the kitchen and trying out new recipes or something he had seen on tv. He loved the Lord and his family fiercely.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 28, at 1:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond “Joe” Mullins, Bro. Keith Hill, Bro. Josh Marshall ministers.
