Wanda Mae Prince, 84, of Prestonsburg, KY, formally of Grayson, KY, was called home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Pikeville Nursing and Rehab Center in Pikeville, KY. Born on May 11, 1942, in Oldtown, KY, she was the cherished daughter of the late Vernon and Pearlie Wilburn Prince. Wanda was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Gollihue; her brother, Vernon R. Prince; and her beloved son-in-law, Avery Rodney Hunt.
Wanda had a generous heart full of compassion and kindness, dedicating her life to caring for others. As a devoted caregiver, she touched the lives of many, always putting the needs of those in her care before her own.
Wanda was a strong and faithful woman who devoted her life to her family as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She found her greatest joy in spending time with loved ones, and her warm spirit made everyone feel welcome. Known for her delicious cooking and a tidy home, she had a special way of making lasting memories around the dinner table and in everyday life.
Wanda is survived by her loving daughter, Doretha Hunt of Prestonsburg, KY; her two grandsons, Nathan Hunt (Amanda Haney) of Hindman, KY and Justin Avery Hunt of Elizabethton, TN; and her three great-grandchildren, Caroline Haney, Chloe Haney, and Camryn Avery Hunt. She also leaves behind her three brothers, Raymond (Karen) Prince of Greenup, KY, Delbert (Rhonda) Prince of Georgetown, KY, and Elwood Prince of Flatwoods, KY; her three sisters, Ella Faye Kouns, Jean (Raymond) McGuire, and Marie Bush, all of Grayson, KY; and a host of extended family and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Malone Funeral Home, with Bro. Billy Sammons, officiating. Burial will follow at the Freeman-Prince Cemetery in Oldtown, KY. Visitation will be from 6:00 PMto 9:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, and after 9:00 AM until the service hour on Saturday. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com.
