William “Tracy” Cassidy, age 65, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born December 18, 1960, in Fleming County, Kentucky, a son of the late John and Pauline Emmons Cassidy.
Tracy was a man whose heart beat to the rhythm of bluegrass music. He played with several bands throughout the years and found joy in every note he played, whether on his banjo, guitar, or bass. He often could be found surrounded by friends and family, picking tunes and creating memories.
He dedicated over 45 years of his life working as an electrician, a career he took great pride in. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Vanceburg Hills Nursing Home.
Above all, he was a proud grandfather to his grandson Weston, who meant the world to him. The love he had for Weston was unmatched, and the time they shared together was among his greatest joys.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Cooper and Shawna Cassidy.
Tracy is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Sheila Moore Cassidy; his son, Derick Stone and his girlfriend Caitlin Oliver; and his cherished grandson, Weston Stone, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Happy Hollow Union Church, 531 Happy Hollow Road, Tollesboro, KY 41189, with Brother Kent Moore, Jerry Bloomfield and Brother Jim Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Happy Hollow Cemetery.
Friends may visit at 11:30 a.m., Saturday April 25, 2026, until the service hour at Happy Hollow Union Church.
Archie Duncan, Donnie Moran, Tony Jarrells, John Huff, Darrin Stanfield and Mole Gentry will serve as pallbearers.
Weston Stone will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
